Now that I have your attention...
I've been messing with the dev site and have gone through a complicated removal (vBAdvanced), upgrade (vBulletin), and install (vBDrupal) to get the site into upgraded & working condition.
Before I get too far down the road of implementing and customizing Drupal features for the site, I want to go ahead and upgrade us here. Unless something comes up family-wise, I am going to try and do this tonight. It is going to take a minimum of about an hour for the site to be down, and after that things may randomly appear and disappear...
I just wanted to give everyone fair warning.
Why vBDrupal vs vBAdvanced?
we will have all the same features as vBAdvanced with vBDrupal
we will have available to us every module and feature for Drupal 5.x, including:
a much more customizable main landing page
ability to integrate with other software, including Gallery
user blogs (I know people are luke-warm on this, but... we'll see!)
better and more integrated shoutbox?
chat?
and many (http://drupal.org/project/Modules) more I have no way to test the new site setup vs spambots, however, the upgraded vB gives us more tools to fight it--such as using ReCAPTCHA for registration. So.. hopefully this will let us turn reg back on.
