So, while they are over-priced and only have what I need half the time, it means in the Richmond area there are no computer stores except for Best Buy/Circuit City, and the shady strip-mall places with cute names that make me think I'll be out-geeked and made to feel silly as soon as I walk through the door (see the Windows help thread for proof).

Fry's, if you are listening, the Richmond market is wide open and waiting!

It's kinda too bad -- the one thing I depended on them for was an (almost) annual sale of Cooler Master midtower cases that was almost always combined with a mfg. rebate, resulting in a $0 - $29 case with power supply.

Other than that, I say MicroCenter (http://www.microcenter.com/) ft-brick-and-mortar-w!

-NazI wish Fry's had outlets a little more evenly dispersed east of the Sierra Madres; closest to me is in Indianapolis. Their prices are fairly in-line with MicroCenter, but Fry's has a much, much wider selection of stuff.

Without CompUSA in the picture, MC will now be (literally) the only game in town if I need an emergency PC part. http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/22.gif :(

rumor is 20% off everything in store tomorrow (may exclude mp3 players and computers), no returns. could be untrue, just don't know...

That doesn't sound very nutritious. I bet the staples hurt when they come out.

Living on Fry's isn't too healthy either.

Don't get to excited about the discounts, in CompUSA's last closing of several stores. I had one by my house that was closing and one by my work that was not, the one that was closing had higher prices but then discounted. The non-closing store effectively had similar prices.

So I when to my local TigerDirect store and it was cheaper then both by alot.
