Please, be verbose, take the time to discuss the maps in rotation on the not 24/7 2fort server.

Do you love them, hate them, want to beat your neighbor's cat when a certain one comes up in the rotation? (I know Threebs feeling over Stronghold)
Are there others you've played and want to see added?

As this game has a nice mapping community in hand, it looks like we'll have many to choose from. If only Dr Green would knock on Menzel's door, we could get some old favorites ported over.

btw, big updates were made to one map that brings on the controversy.

Powerhouse was updated today:

There are 2 custom sounds and some textures included (I used PakRat for this).
Powerhouse area has been scaled down, should be better with 24 players now.

- Added rear vent entrance to bases
- Can now clamber back out of sewer
- Improved lighting

Two custom maps were updated on the server.

Mach2 now has added healthpacks in the exterior.

Impact (http://vilepickle.com/map/screens/tf2_ctf_impact/ctf_impact_3.jpg), a map we recently added has many changes.
Those that have played it will recognize the screen shot in that link, among many changes, the glass is now breakable.

There's another new remake of the old TF CTF Well map out now. It's more in the style of TF2 rather than the Fortress Forever one that we ran before, I may give it a whirl, depending upon feedback from others.

During the week, there's usually someone on ~8-ish ET until ~11-ish (or beyond depending on how many left-coasters are around).

On the weekends it's pretty hit-and-miss, but usually after whatever football 'big game of the day' is over.

And, as always, be sure to check your local TS TF2 channel.

Update to the custom map server.

Removed CP Granary (never much cared for it)

Added CTF Snofort (sic) It's custom and it fits in nicely with the holiday season. Haven't played it yet, but as TF2 is beyond easy to change map rotations without even having to stop the server, I'm not too worried.

I along with few others have been playing TF2 on both of our servers regularly for the past few days. There was some discussion about the rotation on the customs server last night.

I think most would agree that the 2fort server is working the way it is currently setup but the same cannot be said for the customs server rotation.

In my opinion I think we should change the customs server to not be a customs server =P; Just run the stocks maps in rotation. I can hardly remember playing the maps or their names but I remember that they were all a lot of fun. There is also the recent release of Well CTF and the upcoming release of a Goldrush mode map that we can capitalize on, as well as the updates coming to the media class etc.

The customs server just isn't filling up and when it does it empties on a map change or when powerhouse messes up.

Discuss...

Noggin is working again on Powerhouse in the SDK as I write, but perhaps we'll have to wait. There is an undated version on his site at the moment which fixes some of the glitches: not the button (I don't think?).

Well and Well, Granary, Dustbowl, Gravelpit, Hydro, and 2Fort are the maps.
I think I might be missing one, but I can't recall.

Dustbowl and Gravelpit are arguably the most popular. I suppose Mach could run, as it is the most popular custom. (To my knowledge.) We could also run 2Fort, but that seems kinda silly.

Goldrush should definitely be put into rotation. I'd think a not-custom server would do fine. We could also turn down the spawn time, enable x2 crits and call it the VSFGamers Slaughter House.

Speaking of 2Fort . . .

omg i mapped for like 12 hours yesterday. The structures for the red and blue bases are done, the spawn points and doors are in place. there is a basic environment lighting and I have one of the lanes of traffic working in concept. I need to make the water side and the flag area. I will probably seperate the two areas by some "woods" in order to reduce vis rendering and decrease lag. I will work on it more tonight. The paths for the turtles are gonna be a pain in the ass. The funny part is there are not a lot of car models so there are gonan be broken jalopies on the road zooming about. And i haven't found a log yet but I am looking. I am not sure i can randomize the intel locations which will kinda suck but we will see.

I have a could walk areas above the road for scouts and such. and i will have a subterranean path available inder the water for 2 entries to the intel.

anyway, more later. I am gonna take some of the vsf images and make decals for the flag rooms:)

Your crazy. You're confusing me with the Mah-Ung who hates everyone/thing. Turbine and Mach have always rated highly on my scale. I do hate Impact and quarry. Very much indeed.
