This was a good plan when it was first made up but now that the Zune makes the iPod look like a brick it wouldn't be too smart.

WiFi sync is impressive, Browsing the web on a music player although amazing is really not going to help you play music. The WiFi iTunes store is just as worthless as the real iTunes music store; nothing to cheer about there.

It's an impressive list of features, some of which the iPod has had. There is no reason Microsoft couldn't have implemented them before but at least they have now.

I would have bought an iPod Touch had Apple not decided to strip it of all the coolness the iPhone has. No weather, mail, maps, etc. and I know that they've got the jailbreak but Apple will plug the TIFF exploit and everyone will be screwed again. I guess what I really want is the Newton 2.0. Actually it would be nice to see an iPod Touch, iPhone or even a Zune; I've never seen any of them in real life...

EDIT: Forgot about the coolest part! The new firmware for the original Zune to give it all of the new functionality of Zone 2.0. Apple would never do anything like that. Plus the new iPods are locked down to accessories that include the little Apple chip, no Linux sync, I assume they will also not work with 3rd party apps in Windows or OSX.

Apple has also done what they don't do with the computers... Have a bazillion different options for purchase. The limited number of computer models is great, it makes it easy to select a system. What are there now 7 or 8 different iPods?

Oh an yea I still love my Nano and 5G, use them everyday.

Actually, Apple is releasing an SDK for the iPhone, so its coolness just went up by a factor of 10.

I'm actually going to give in this year and buy an iPod. The new nano's are just what BabyHeads needs. I can listen to 1/32 of my music collection AND convert some of my boxing workout vids so I can keep up the work when I'm on the road.

Too bad I gotta pay 267 for what you fools pay 199 for. And the Aussie dollar is strong now too (got up to .91 cents a couple of times)
