It's up and running.

Server IP: 216.86.152.227
Server Port: 4279

No pwd ATM but we shall see what we need.

It just started tonight. I'll be on in about 2 hours. (or whenever the Bears are done)

Vent seems to hold bigger number of players better than TS.

Anyway, give it a workout.

Word of warning, it's open to all but meant for the 40 man WoW raids. If need arises (rare) we may need to make room for all 40 of the raiding party.

Doesn't the latest version of Ventrilo have a user limit cap or something (one of the new groups on here was complaining about it I think)? My old clan used it off and on for a while; the only additional feature was the Text-to-voice thing, IIRC; what other stuff are you talking about? The command key binding is what pushes TS over the top for me, but maybe Vent's gotten better.

Main reason I went Vent over TS was the Vent servers I've been on have handled 20+ in one channel a lot better than any TS server I've been on.

To my knowledge, there is no user limit to Ventrilo as an app but I would have to look into that.

There's some reference to it here. (http://www.vsfgamers.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=8897)
Was it Ventrilo that had an option not to have voice messages overlap each other, or was that just for the text-to-voice messages? That would be pretty handy for many people. Otherwise, I just remember Vent being a little 'cleaner' sounding, in general (but I think TS includes the Speex codecs now).
Also, not to be a spoil-sport (and you may want to delete this), but we need to be careful about the licensing agreements now that we are a 'paying clan'. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't technically be allowed to host a free TS server now, for example. I'm not familiar with Ventrilo's licensing.

Both VSF voice servers are legit.
