Under "Server Address", be sure you have the correct port # -- 70.84.100.98:9027
Enter "Nickname'; 'Guest' is so impersonal.
Click the "Registered" radio button.
DON'T enter a "Login Name'.
Enter PW: tony (all lower case)
Option 1: Check "Auto-Reconnect".
Option 2: Continue Humpty Dance.

Your login should look (mostly) like this:

Can you get to TS if you bypass your router? Some other **cough**Microsoft**ahem** firewall thingy going on in the background? Zone Alarm? Some other gremlin?

Nah I checked. All should be good. Last thing I'm thinking of is that my stupid ISP (CURSE YOU SBC) blocked the port
Chairman_Kaga
08-09-2005, 01:29 PM
SBC used to work for me.
Double check your port setting. This is not the default port for TS. Also verify the fix you did on your router references the VSF used port rather than the default TS port.

Nothing has worked so far. So guess no TeamSpeak for me
Are you able to ping 70.84.100.98? If yes, the only other thing I can think of is some part of the address you are using isn't correct. It should be 70.84.100.98:9027 exactly.
And this may seem obvious but you are using TeamSpeak 2 version 2.0.32.60 right? From http://www.goteamspeak.com/downloads.php ?

There's GOT to be something you're not doing the same as the rest of us. HAS to be. TS is a touchy bastage. This is what I do, step by step:
Double-click the TeamSpeak icon.
click on "Connection",
drag cursor to "CONNECT" (not Quick Connect).
insert the IP address plus the port "70.84.100.98:9027" in Server Address field.
choose "Registered" and NOT "anonymous"
Make your LoginName "NinjaWookie" (as that's the profile I made for you just now to see if it works)
password = "tony"
check the Auto-Reconnect box.
hit connect.

From a DOS prompt, can you:
Ping 70.84.100.98
and a:
tracert 70.84.100.98
and post the results?
To my knowledge, SBC did not block any VOIP ports/protocol.
I'm still laughing at the Humpty Hump reference....

Once you do get a connection if you have it set to "Registered" you will recieve a "bad name or password" upon connection. You must choose "anonymous" to login to the server. These helpful admins are admins and have registered accounts.

If your ping gets a reply you might want to try to connect again. Sometimes doing this will result in a broken connection magically working again.
Another thing you could try is updating your NIC drivers. Somewhere on the net yesterday I read something about teamspeak having a problem with something(lol re-reading that I can see it means nothing). NIC drivers are a long shot but it seems you are at that stage.

which d-link do you have - I have one set-up at home, so I can do some digging through my router setup and see what I changed/did if it is a similar model...

I'm with AK if you can't connect while directly connected to modem it is not the router. Have you checked c:\WINDOWS\pfirewall.log to see if it is being blocked by XP?
NinjaWookie151
08-11-2005, 04:25 PM
It's not being blocked by my windows firewall. I turned that off and just in case made an exception for it. I have a DI-604 Revision ABC
Killing spree does sound tempting though.

You only have one profile on the machine right? Not a user and separate Admin. Profile.
NinjaWookie151
08-11-2005, 04:33 PM
Right just one profile. Anybody else touches The Mothership (name of my pc) they get hurt.
Have another PC you can try on the same connection?
RuperT
08-11-2005, 05:38 PM
On the Connection setup screen, there is a 'Web Server List' (it'll take a minute to populate when you switch to it). Can you connect to any of these (obviously you want a nonpassworded server)? Or any TS server?
Also, I'm pretty sure you do need to use 'Anonymous' login, at least until you register. And, in the server address, make sure you're using a colon between the IP and port, and not a semicolon (although this gives a socket error and not the one you report).
NinjaWookie151
08-11-2005, 05:49 PM
No I can not connect to any of them. (I tried. Anyone that said public and no password I tried). And I'll have my roommate check on her machine later

Try to reinstall latest/greatest of TeamSpeak.
Last idea, try w/o router and w/o any firewall running.

He should use all the info scattered in this and the other threads to configure TS so it sees the server, plug in the password, and log in anonymously. No registration is required, but any of the admins can right-click on you and allow registration. :D
