Difference between a warrior and a good warrior.

My 2nd Maraudon group the warrior (we actually had 2 but one was lower level) wouldn't stay on the same side of the fight where I could heal them from out of range of any AoE (princess farts). Two that kept running to the far side died. They were our 2 tanks. :( I survived and ran... a lot. Was able to get back and rez them. 2nd attempt on her was success.

First group had a great warrior (Kumate) that just waded in and stayed on the same side of the mobs as his beloved healer and kept an eye if I pulled aggro. Rarely had to heal the rogue or mages as he held aggro well.

Priests: (assuming 1 priest in group)
Heal your main tanks first and foremost.
Stay out of range of AoE.
Heal only as needed to reduce threat generated. Casting a lot of HoT's will generate a lot of threat and you will have issues. Shield also generates a lot of threat. Don't use in combat unless necessary.
Heal DPS guys as available mana allows. Finishing the battle with 100% health for everyone is not your goal. Surviving the battle and winning is. A win with 50% health when you're done is better than a defeat b/c your priest ran out of mana.
Refrain from doing damage. When things are fully under control and there is nothing else to do, use your wand to help do a little damage from range.

DPS classes, allow your tank to build up a little aggro before unleashing your major damage spells. Also try to concentrate on the mob your tank is working on. Hitting the ones that are on the fringe is just going to cause them to pull to you.

Generally speaking, it is best for the group to focus on one mob at a time (non-raid groups) and thin the group as fast as possible. There are times when the warrior is going to need to attack another mob to pull him off of someone else. Just concentrate on the "main" target while he does that.

a macro for /assist %T is nice for the DPS guys. Selec the tank, /assist %T and hit the same mob he is hitting.

Excellent advice but there are many things that can set a good warrior apart from the pack. Efficient and smart use of Rage. Battlefield awareness. Smart use of Taunts and weapon swapping. Stance-swapping. Fearlessness - sometimes to the point of stupidity.

But in terms of general advice, the tanks and DPS must always be cognizant that healing spells require LOS (line of sight). If you dash around the corner to stop a runner, and plow into another mob - don't stop and fight them there... return to the main battle so your healer can keep you alive. You cannot expect the healer to seek you out. More than likely, they are busy.

If you have two warriors, one should be designated the main tank (MT). This should be done early in the instance/run. For most of the instance, it won't matter. However, when you come to the boss fights, you will want to make more efficient use of healing mana. The same goes on a bad draw or when a patrol waylays you in the middle of another fight. Hence, you do not want to wait until you get a boss to decide who is tanking, even if you aren't going to 'tank' most of the mobs.. When things go to crap, everyone knows who is supposed to assume the MT role and that person turtles up and everyone else lays off until they establish aggro.

I was in Scarlet Monastery with a group and we had a bad pull and grabbed two groups of mobs instead of one. We handled it nicely until one ran and pulled another set of mobs. Things were getting out of control, but we kept our wits about us, let the MT get the agg (not easy with 4-6 mobs running around), and then ripped them down one at a time while the priests kept him alive. It was an extremely difficult fight, but we survived intact and it was a blast.

Tanking is a group effort. The best tank in the world cannot hold aggro if his partymates are playing like idiots. If a caster gets aggro, don't run away... stand there or run to the tank and let them taunt it off you. Most mages accept that they will die if they steal the aggro, but it seems like many rogues think that its the healers' fault when they die. Wrong. Why was that mob hitting you? Your leather armor does not a tank make. You wanna wear leather and be a tank? Play a druid... rawr!

 Nice to see that some things are consistent from one game to another! Good tactics above, without a doubt. Healers should stay out of the fight unless it's really needed. And by really needed, I mean your tank is going down, you're out of power/mana, and it's real close to dropping the bad guy. Otherwise, cast any movement buffs you can, put some space between you and the guy killing the tank, and get ready to bug out.
