View Full Version : WoW VSF Guild Loan officer?

Been thinking about this. Ignus mentioned that another guild was doing this. I thought about it before but didn't have the G to do it. Now I think we can handle it.

But what would you all think about setting up a guild loan officer to help buy mounts? Low or no interest loans to be paid back weekly or something.

There are a lot of caveats to this, but I think we are all adult enough to work them out.

What I would probably do is create a level 1 char that does nothing but hold the "bank". Requests would go to that char as would payments.

Then any issues could be raised here.

i would be willing as long as it was not taken atvantage of
also i dont think that it should be advertised in reg game more as a wisper to you and that there should be a limit
also i think that if we are going to do it that all members should contribut what they can to help so you do not have to bear the cost all of the time. and that the interest should be like 20 silverer per gold barrowed etc... just my 2 cent's

I like the idea, Lets take all of Fennels money and put it in the pot  Seeing that we havn't seen him in a month or more. Anyone know his log in :D
Anyway, the biggest expense is the mounts and that could break the bank. As you level you can get more $ to pay it off but who keeps track and how do we start the funding (besides the above mentioned).....

And it wouldn't be "for me" or necessarily all from me. As for "cost" me, as long as it's repaid, I don't care. For returns, the only reason I'd look for anything more in return would be to grow the coffers so we can help more people.

I don't think it's an issue in regards to abuse. I know how to delete your VSFGamer accounts and posts. ;)

Yes, we will have to come up with some limits and valid "reasons" for loans. Also some sort of payment schedule plan.

Right now this is just a thought. However, I think this should be doable and helpful.

LOL (places very nice kiss a@@ coment here)
I agree it is very doable and i would like to see it done.
I think it to be a nice perk for the guild

ive another thought not to change the subject but what about posting drops that we get that others may beable to use and selling or giving it to them if you dont need it. also kaga do you still need items for disenchanting as ive a few items that i could give

i think this is a great idea :D

if we do do it though, lets put up a sticky thread here so everyone can help keep everyone in line for their repayment. also, we should make it a requirement to join the forums before getting a loan.

and someday when im as high as you ill be glad to contribute!

Over the weekend, I decided to return to playing Bul, who has been languishing in the pasture (obligatory cow joke is now out of the way). After making a few purchases and training, I was down to 6c. Yes... six measily copper. Over the next day and a half I generated close to 20g. I was stunned. I had never had that kind of success at generating money around level 20. The key to this windfall is simple: cloth. Pick it all up, stack it, auction it. When you auction it... always put a buyout...

I was selling stacks of linen for 65s! That is outrageous but people were buying it - damned if I wasn't going to take advantage of the situation. Wool will sell for 1g/stack routinely, you can typically get more. I don't much care for grinding, but when I learned dual-wield combat and got a 1H sword as a quest reward, I decided to go skill up (I had been using 1H mace to that point). I got to play with my new skills, skilled up my combat ability, and raked in cloth.

I mention this for two reasons. One, we can all benefit from a little extra cash. Two, when you are higher level, you will come across alot of junk loot. Rather than discard it or vendor it, mail it to the guild mule. Once a stack is formed, the mule can auction it and this will help build the bank. Obviously, the higher level cloth and other materials can be used by the guild but even this can be stocked on the mule and distributed when needed.

Food for thought... I haven't thought it through completely but it seems like a decent idea.
