View Full Version : At the risk of sounding ignorant ... how does TS work?

I don't have team-speak, but I understand it is a freeware software I can download somewhere.

What is the benefit of using that software? Would I run it at the same time as a game to talk to "ALL" other people in the game, or is it the same thing as the VOIP software that is incorporated into BF2?

Also, what does it mean to have a "teamspeak server"?

A FAQ on this would be really informative, otherwise, I'm thick skinned, so lemme have it with both barrels for not knowing how to use TS.

just do a search for teamspeak and you will find the software quickl. the server is just like a game server. you have a client adn a server. Naz (I think) is kind enough to host a server (ie he pays money every month for us to use.) you installt he client and read the sticky in this forum and there you go.:)

Thanks for your kind words Snowpea but TS is now hosted by Iggy. Im just one of the Admin's.

West, You can DL TS from www.goteamspeak.com and use the info here (http://www.vsfgamers.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=6408) to connect and talk a little smack to Nv.

TS is used (at least in BF2) in conjunction with VOIP... it allows those who frequent the VSF forums to talk smack to one another (or silently listen as some do to all the hijinx...) as long as you map your TS and VOIP keys separately you should be good to go...

another big plus in TS's corner is there is almost always an admin on, so if you run into a smacktard in game you just let the admins know. I love VOIP but enjoy chatting with guys on the other team or squads.
