Anyone read much about the PvP honor system? Seems interesting. Not sure it will affect my game much on a PvE server but surely seems to have sparked more raids last 2 nights. There was even a raid on Orgrimmar. Not that they ever got to the front gate but...
Oh yeah, Fennel's a dirty ODB who likes to stick 'em from behind. ;)
The honor system does not promote honor - it promotes ganking and zerging. The rewards are pretty nice (at least stat-wise, they probably look goofy). On Earthen Realm there was non-stop raiding against the Horde when the patch came out. I imagine this will continue for a while - at least until Blizz starts penalizing for killing folks of a lower level. I think alot of people just wanted to try it out to see what happens. I saw alot of people playing with the leather balls though...
It was observed by some of the ER folks that there were ALOT of new people signing up on our server. The suspicion is that alot of the folks from PvP servers are planning on taking advantage of the inexperience of the RP players. They don't seem to realize that we have a rather large population that engages in PvP on a regular basis. They will get their cheap shots in on the folks that are just trying out PvP (like me, if I do it), but I fear they are in for a rude awakening when they get run over by some of our more skilled players - and then they will leave.. :P It is not unlike when clan takes for granted that some gaming community cannot play up to their level... not that I can think of a recent example of this.. lol

On the PvE server, it's just prompted more raids. To date, it has not really affected me. I'm sure NPC quest givers may be harder to come by at times but... I'm sure this weekend may be interesting though.
Just to get even I kill the level 30 alliance quest giver in stonetalon every time I go past now. :)
However, the arena sounds pretty cool. Have not been in there yet.

OK, so I'm killing away getting HKs. Now where do I get my rewards?
(ok, not really, but I did get to rank 1)

OK, anyone know how the HK rank system works? Not in regards to grunt, scout, sergeant, etc... I'm talking about it says I was #22 for last week. Does that mean I had the 22nd highest HK points last week? (20K+ honor points)

Yes, 21 more people got more Honor than you for that week. I'm not sure if it is just within your faction or not (I'm guessing not).
I expect to get demoted from Sergeant Major soon (I'll miss the STA necklace).

Well, I believe you keep them, but they can't be equipped unless you reach the required rank again.

Yes, you cannot equip them if you lose rank.
Maintaining rank does not seem as difficult as achieving it.

That won't be true after the next patch (1.6). After the patch, you will no longer have to maintain rank to equip the armor and weapons. So you could drop all the way back down to a Scout rank and still use the High Warlord pieces. ..now getting to that status is the another issue ;) They say it should take you several months to achieve that ranking.

I personally hated the honour system on PvP server. I was getting ganked every 5 minutes in the charred vale trying to do quests... literally every five minutes.
Often, it was by people who were ?? to me.
If not for Cowboy inviting me here, I'd probably be done with WoW.
So thanks!
