WoW Patch 1.3.0

FYI there is a new patch that is out and if yo have problems downloading it form blizzard, here is a good link to a torrent from filerush.

patch was going fine this morning, got up to 43%, then i turned it off to go to work and now its only at 58% after 1.5 hours :sigh:

better be worth it!

Hehe... had it d/led and set up before leaving for work. When I came home, the servers were up but the login servers were sketchy. After a few minutes I got in. I decided to leave Cosmos disabled rather than try to beat it into working. Besides, many of the feature are now part of the default UI.
Various observations:
- I miss Cosmos already - I need my tackle box, quickloot, map notes, and all that good stuff
- video rendering 'seems' improved. Even in areas with high lag I seemed to get smoother animation.
- I had three lockups. The first one was brief (15secs). The third took longer to resolve. The third one didn't end after about 90secs so I alt-ctl-del my way to freedom. Unfortunately, I was about to complete a long escort quest and was underwater when it occured - I was dead and failed the quest... The first and second lock-ups occured while attempting to do multiple things at once - e.g. bank dialog open, bags open (inc. bank bags), and trying to craft an item. The third one was just seemingly random... this could be independent of the patch.
- population of scorpions appears to be higher in Tanaris. Unfortunately, I wasn't there to hunt them but to hunt Air elementals, who appeared less frequent... *sigh*
- GF reports that ogres do, in fact, look better than they used to (more like sumo wrestlers than fat blobs)

i think we should do that with every patch, maybe draw some new attention to VSF ^^
