Yeah, I got in on the Stress Test (offered to Fileplanet subscribers). It was only for a week, and I think it ends today. I only got a couple of days in because of Frances, but it's a lot of fun. It's amusing to see how they implement the various carrots that keep you playing until 4 a.m., trying to get one more toy. I also like to see how they manage these (very) large and persistent worlds, and all the people in them. The sheer scale of these games is fascinating to me as a gamer, and I feel my gaming desires moving towards these larger and more complex worlds. I mean, as cool as the physics environment of the new CS:Source is, it's such a microcosm compared to the Battlefield series. Imagine where we're going in the future! <Giggle>
I think I just might buy this game in a couple of months (and I suppose it's not a big move over to EQ2, eh, Chaly).

:dead:

The graphics are cartoonish compared to other MMOs, I've heard from other Beta Testers that gameplay is weak, and overall the game sucks.

Blizzard just doesn't have MMO experience.

MEO for me.

Well, RuperT, when EQ2 hits, I'll use Fraps and make some movies. Of course, I don't have a website, so I'll have to beg some space, or just send them to you via AIM. We'll see what it looks like then.

I've been contimplating if i should get this as my next new game to play. I'm still very much into city of heroes and there is no way i'm going to be paying for 2 MMOs at the same time. I guess i'll have to wait for more reviews to make a decision.

You could always clone your bad self or learn to use the mouse in your other hand then play on 2 computers at once.

I think I will definitely pick up WOW and only play for 2 months and then switch back to ET    :?

Here's my preliminary beta review:

At first, it was kinda lame. Nothing more than other MMORPGs really, except that it loads sooo fast! like a matter of seconds, from opening the program you're in game. i liked that a lot :) I went exploring (cuz i like doing that) the first night and kept getting slaughtered cuz i was way too far ahead of where i should be yet, so after finding my way back to the start village, i leveled up and did some quests, and it got a lot more fun! didnt really get to do any group-oriented quests or anything, but i did get to learn some cool stuff. I chose to be a Undead Warlock, and almost right from the git-go you learn a summon spell that makes a little Imp follow you around and attack with you! it was so much easier then ;) the way the skills are learned and everything is pretty nice from what i experienced. The worlds are beautiful and huge, and pretty cool to see on this perspective if you've played Warcraft 3, which this is pretty much a sequel to.

Overall, i'd take WoW over EQ anyday, but am i still gonna pay to play it? i dunno...
