Came across this tweak thats suppose to increase performance. I haven't tried it yet but it looks like it works.

link form the forums discussing other tweaks (http://www.forumplanet.com/planetdoom/topic.asp?fid=5733&tid=1438663)

Has any one else found any other tweaks?

In re link 2:
I wonder if extracting the files from the pk3 files would hae a similar effect for RtCW, ET and CoD?

ok, i tried both of those tweaks. it actually made everything run slower, but i knocked it down to medium quality (from high) and it runs sooo smooth now! its like ~40 FPS running around and ~15 in a fight.

im running Athlon XP 1800+, Radeon 9600 Pro 256mb, 1024mb RAM, 1280x1024 @ Medium quality

also, there are some files you can play w/ in the pk4 packs, like a config file for each tester or designer on the team, some sounds, and looks like a bunch of media files that are in some proprietary formats. if someone finds a prog to open these files, please share!

EDIT: i tried opening .pk3's from CoD, RtCW, and ET, and they all work in Winrar! theres tons of goodies in them! :D

From the other thread

Cheater! :P
I'm still frantically searching the Mars base for some duct tape, to tape the damn flashlight to my head...

Well here it is. Duct Tape mod!! I have not tried it yet but I will this looks sweet.

FYI:

Don't apply this mod until you start a new level otherwise you start your save game at the beginning of the level not where you saved the game.
