I know like myself, Chaly is a big fan of the original boardgame and the old pc version. They have a new updated version published by Atari coming out shortly. SWEEEEET!

looks pretty cool, its like C&C meets BF42! :D
hopefully it will run better than C&C Generals though... that game was seriously flawed.

Oooh, I love A&A. I used to love playing the Japanese; throwing new tactics at the Americans, while fending off the English and Russians in Asia. I'd take Hawaii, then go for Alaska. On the Asian continent, as soon as I took a country or 2 with a prod of 3, I'd set up a couple of factories. Saves time, and let's you dump huge piles of infantry and armor into your push, freeing up transports for Pacific duty. Like taking Australia. And moving into Africa, to help Germany take England out of the game. Resources, resources, resources. And a little luck. Oh, this looks goooooood. I could see a couple of evenings being spent playing this.

My A&A box is still intact after 20 years, although it looks like hell. I've been tempted to pick up a new edition (they even have country specific pieces now). It's a great game, but it's hard to budget that kind of time anymore (and I suppose I really shouldn't have in college, either).
I love boardgames and have a decent collection (some not even played yet, sadly). It's just a wee little obsession. Really.
Funagain (www.funagain.com) has a great website.
Boulder Games (www.bouldergames.com) usually beat Funagain's prices, and their editor writes very frank descriptions (I actually just saw him refer to an expansion product as a 'rip-off' last night while browsing).
Board Game Geek (www.boardgamegeek.com) is fun, too.

Boulder is a great store. And they ship right away; you get your stuff like 2 days later.
