My Firefox browser is really, really slow. Sometimes I have trouble bringing it to the foreground from background... can't open tabs when one tab is loading... all the things it didn't used to do.

So, I've had this problem before it & prompted my switch to Camino, which I don't like as much... but last night Firefox started doing it again. Previously, I had reinstalled it about a dozen times... gave up, and two weeks later it worked ok. It's been fine for weeks.

I rebooted last night, and no help.

I really don't like camino as much (though it's faster than Firefox at its best), but I don't know WTF Is wrong with Firefox. Can't find anything on the net.

Any ideas?

I think I've had this problem before, although it was with XP. I seem to remember relating it to using a certain theme - are you using any?

i'm using the default theme...

and it's worked great except for these two experiences.

frustrating!

interesting...did the repair perms in the disk utility, and it seems to be working ok. the perm repair gave some sort of cryptic error (I wish I had it on screen) and it fixed it... maybe that was it?

Did you boot off the CD when you ran the Repair Disk and Repair Permissions?
It works better that way.

nope, just ran it... maybe i'll give that a try, too.
