Yup, an official Apple Mac thread. We'll see what usage is like and how many closet Mac users we have... see if there's enough interest for a section.

studio display power button
I have a Studio display, and it has this nice power button on the bottom right. However, when it gets brushed up by anything (CATS!) it shuts down the Mac without any warning. Is there a way I can turn it into a MONITOR power button, or at least make it ask me if I really want to shut the computer off? it's annoying as 'ell.
What-the..

RTG - not spamming here - I started on Apple II+ (dam - that was along time ago) and the thing I hate most was going to the store and having 10 rows of PC software and 1/2 row for APPLE (by the way the 1/2 row was both MAC and II software). I think a MAC is better for graphics and audio. But it was, and still is limited, compared to Windows, Unix, and Linux software. (Note - Up until the newwer OS's)
By the way, SPAMMING does bring attention, GOOD or BAD, people are reading it!!!
just my .02!!
:?: ex-APPLE user!!! (yes I used the old MACs {FAT MAC})

Ask and ye shall receive! (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58813)
God bless! Why that isn't just on the control panel w/o the command-shift trick is beyond me, but it worked like a champ. thank you.
Recently upgraded the woman's Dual G4 tower from OS 9.2 to 10.3 (Panther). In comparison to any legacy Mac OS, OSX rocks. It finally has some advanced networking capabilities and looks great. I still can't handle only one mouse button though...drives me nuts.

Yup, not having to install File and Print Services for Macintosh on a Windows server is a good thing. Thank you SMB, thank you.

I like the one button mouse for most things... but not gaming. That's the main reason I don't game on the mac... but I really want to try CoD on the widescreen ;)

Albeit very very very slowly......
Yeah, I read about this... cool stuff, but...
hopefully it'll get faster.
Would you use that for running Mac only apps on a PC? It reminds me of WINE for Linux. I can't see much use for it beyond that.

I agree with Iggy. Anything being emulated will be slower than the real thing. I can see this possibly being useful in a help desk situation, but that is about it.

maybe to convince people that the OSX really is nice?
I mean, people use virtual PC all the time... this is essentially Virtual Mac.
If it was fast, you could use it for iMovie, or Garageband, or other nice mac only apps...
