This is a subscription game that is updated according to world events.

Features

Kuma\War is intense episodic play based on the very same stories rocking the world today. Wherever the war takes our forces, we'll put you there.

* Each mission includes a video news show with expert analysis and the critical intel you need to understand a world in crisis.
* After we report it, you play it - in single-player or online in multi-player, co-op and Red on Blue.
* Experience the toughest fighting of the war. Be the 10th Mountain Division hunting Al Qaeda in Afghanistan or the 101st Airborne defeating the Hussein brothers in Iraq.

First time I've seen this - updates each month so you can play each scenario. It's an interesting concept, but for some reason I doubt the quality of the product.

Download a Quicktime trailer here (http://company.kumagames.com/videos/KumaQT.zip) or a Windows Media equivalent here (http://company.kumagames.com/videos/KumaAVI.zip).

EDIT: I forgot the official site (http://www.kumawar.com/main.html).

I personally shy away from subscription-based games. ...and by "shy away," I mean 'never play.' :P

I d/l this really kewl game a few weeks ago. It's all MP and totally intense. Each player gets a verticle bar. Using your mouse, you can move it up and down, THE ENTIRE HEIGHTH OF THE SCREEN! Kickass eh? The object is to get a moving ball past the other players bar. It's schweet. Just deflect it using your bar, and if you are skilled and get it past his bar, you get a point. I love this game. pLaying it all the time. It pwns BFV.

I, too, have played that game, and indeed it rules. Later on, I downloaded this other game that's similar to that, which is also groove-tastic. Instead of a vertical bar, you get a horizontal one that you can use to deflect a ball and hit rectangular targets that look like bricks. The only bad thing is that it's single-player only.

Pfffft. You haven't gamed 'til you've rushed left and right, shooting an ever quickening tide of descending aliens. Now that's intense gaming.
