man I cannot wait
Sakai
Flay
Mario
Puck
Morimoto

Nad I believe Alton Brown is the announcer. (WOOT!)

I am SOOOOO watching this. all weekend and a friend is recording it.

So Sakai is aewsome. Humble, damn good cook and a good sport. Flay is an a55, but. he cooks meat like it should be. And I can't begrudge any man who does that. I am torn. But I think Flay will win.

Morimoto is aewsome but I am rooting for Batali onthat one. italian heritage and I was in Italy for a year. Plus he is fun. Morimoto is damn good.

Morimoto vs puck.
Morimoto will take that one.

You're all watching, right? There's going to be a quizz afterwards.

Only got to watch the Flay V Sakai so far. But I have to say this is 100000000 times better than the attempt they made with Shatner.

All about the food, cooking and prep and not about the host. Still loses some of the campiness that the original had with the translation but...

Now to watch the rest today.

dude, the trout battle rocked. Browns commentary was aewsome and funny. I am watchign them all tonight. I missed the Batali Morimoto batle last night but it should be good tonight:)

Can;t wait for the tag team.

I really like the Coconut shell serving. I am gonna steal that idea. I had no idea they spent that much on all the ingredients. and dude. that huuuuge radish thing was aewsome! (in the behind the scenes)

I want one of their cooking jackets:)

Well, I had hoped for Flay/Morimoto vs. Sakai/Puck but Sakai/Batali was good. Had a feeling that the "mix" was the surprise they had been promising.

Puck actually surprised me with his skeelz. Watching a few of his shows left me with the impression he was more hype than substance. Watching his battle, he got skeelz.

Not sure I agree with all the voting but then again, I didn't taste them. ;) But judging grom the reactions, thought Morimoto killed Batali. Oh well.

Alton Brown did a good job. The new "kaga" is lame as is the new floor reporter but can't have everything. Where would you put it? :)

Hope they make more with the same format. Hoping they keep the Japanese IC's in the show too.

I love that announcer guy. I watch him all the time. He use to live in Atlanta and do his show from here, but he probably has moved to be near this new thing in his career...dammit. i always wanted to catch of glimpse of him while shopping everyday for my food. to no avail.

Yeah, Alton Brown is the man. The cook for geeks. no doubt.

the new kaga just needs a little polishing i think. THe new floor guy sucks. he jabbers too much.

and yeah, i was utterly shocked at puck. dude is l337 in the kitchen. I think he just owned morimoto like a tiny kitten. if he were in the cook off the other team wouldn;t have had a chance. 40 years cooking experience. though his sous chef who was also a master pastry chef in her own right was a little cheesy. I was also unhappy at the guy from Sopranos on the judging panel. I mean he is a nice guy and all but he is too biased in my opinion. I mean he doesn;t like sushi, and there is a japanese chef, Morimoto had no chance. They need to bring Akebono in to judge again. maybe permenantly:)

I hope it goes on and I hope they bring on Ming Tsai. He is aewsome.
