ok i dont like mmorpg's so im not gonna buy into the FF11 HDD combo. however im sure that at some point in the near future ill get some games that require it. i dont really want to pay $100 for a 40gig drive. theres gotta be some way to put whatever hdd i have laying around here in there and format it so the ps2 can read it.

anyone know if this is possible? nv?

Conversely, I've been wondering if there is a way to install PS2's operating system on my PC...

I think there's a PS1 emulator... but the PS2 hardware is another chip type, I think (RISC?), so... probably not. But what the hell do I know?

do u mean emulator or for development purposes kook? ive used the best ps1 emulator available (it sucks soooo bad in comparison w/ a real ps1), but ive never yet seen a working ps2 emu. i think the emu/rom community has died off since game systems are getting so high-tech anymore...

My friend got FFXI with the hard drive combo and he was saying that it was some standard port type. He was considering sticking it in his mac. You'd probably have to install some sort of recognition software but i'd imagine you could find that online somewhere.
