View Full Version : Prince of Persia
I just tried out the PC demo this weekend and I must say that it is the first game in a long time that made me say "wow that was cool!!" in a long time. The ability to run along walls and then jump to a ledge across a presuppose was just the coolest thing. I liked the demo so much that i will be picking up the game after work. Only problem is, Console or PC? :|
Has anyone else played this game?

My kid got PoP for PS2 for Christmas. Having played the original, I was thrilled (luckily, he didn't require much 'convincing')! I think I've gotten about halfway through it, and it's quite good. I would recommend either getting it on console, or getting one of those USB gamepads if you haven't already. I believe the PC version doesn't offer much extra, besides possible better graphics, and I wouldn't want to try some of those moves on a keyboard.
The combat is exciting and ninja-like, but it doesn't elicit the same anxiety as the original PoP. When you ran into a room and there was some guy with a new funky hat, you knew you were about to be tested. 2 blades, 1 victor. The new PoP lacks these intense duels; you seldom fight fewer than 3 creatures at once. Of course, I haven't gotten all the way through yet either.

I played it twice, and I may play it again after awhile. Awesome game. The game looks gorgeous and the puzzles, while they can be annoying and frustrating at times, are interesting. The soundtrack is pretty cool, too. In fact, the song that plays while the credits roll up is my 'theme song' that I play while I am flying choppers in BF:V. I bought it for my PC so that I could crank up to graphics, audio, etc. all the way up, but if you don't have a game pad, plan on buying one for this game. Otherwise you should stick to the PS2 version, if you just want to spend your money on the game itself.

ive read from various mags that its a really good game. i much prefer playing that sort of game on console, its hard to find a good pc gamepad.
unless of course you are using a playstation pad on your pc like me :D
seriously, this pad would probably really improve the game for pc.
hmm just checked the radio shack site (i bought my adapter at local radio shack here) and its not listed. might be worth a call though to make sure.

One of my favorite games of the year. I highly recommend this game if you're into puzzle/adventure games. The graphics are outstanding and the fighting engine is easy to learn. If you're a fan of the old school PoP, you'll love this game, plus you'll be able to unlock the old version to play as well. It's too bad it didn't sell well in the states but it's definitely worth the purchase in my opinion......and how cool is that reverse time option! woohoo!
This game pwns joo! By joo I mean me. I am soooo stuck trying to jump up the side of this statue I tried for an hour to get past this part I think I may need to go get a 12 year old to do it for me. :|
The fighting is awesome!! Some of the moves that you can do are so much fun and very matrix like with the running flip and twist over your opponent made me smile every time I did it. :)

Oh hell yeah! I hope this works in the PS2 version.
Oh, and Naz, if I'm thinking of the right spot, you may have to do the 'chimney hop', where you jump back and forth, up two parallel walls. Not only is the timing tricky, it's not always apparent which jump you should pull out of Aladdin's bag o' tricks.
Here is how to unlock the old version of PoP. And it says it is for the PS2 now I hope it also works in the XBox version.

For the xbox, you can unlock the game by simply beating the game. C'mon Naz, you can do it!
