First of all, my apologies to Geri Atric & anyone else left on late Tues night for droppin with no ciao.
My cable ISP (Charter) is suckin the nut from 1am to noon because of "system changes" this week.
I donated my 56kv92 internal modem thinking I wouldn't need it much and free up some case space.
So I dug out the only modem I had on hand
an USR 56k external Sportster x2
COM1 BABY, YEAH!!!
Attempting to play much of anything is near intolerable.
I can only get it to connect on XP @ 33.6k
Latest (3/9/2000) drivers
any ideas how to run closer to 56k
...& what's x2 a predecessor ro v.90 & v.92?
No big deal just an auxiliary during these unstable broadband times.
I'm posting this @ 33.6 now.
Weeeeeeeeeee. 56k (33.6) :|
Oddly, my kazaa transfers are no different.
Hope to frag as my low pinging self again soon.

This is weird because I thought I was reading your post a bit slower then usual. I guess its because of your connection :)

I have no idea what you can do but hope this doesn't last too long.

I set my parents new computer up this week with DSL. Hopefully pop will join us in a game of BFV or CoD sometime now that he's got the resources. I finished their computer before there DSL wentr active so I set them up on their old dialup connection in the mean time. Within 45 of dial in I had 2 viruses;
Blaster & Welchia32.
Couldn'r believe it in under a minute.
It's 5pm now & my connection is up again but we'll see what happens after midnight.

I had a couple days of problems when my cable company was upgrading in the city. I was disconnected once every 10-20 mins on average

Mine didn't upgrade. They just let the connection quality go down to an intolerable level. :|
