What idiot hired his staff?Oh, wait, nevermind. That's about right. (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=573&ncid=757&e=5&u=/nm/20040322/od_nm/campaign_bush_myanmar_dc)

While amusing in light of the flap over jobs being lost overseas, I don't think the Bush campaign is really at fault here. They specified that they wanted the apparel to be made in the USA but the supplier didn't heed their request. I don't think it is unreasonable for the purchaser to assume that the supplier filled their order as requested. If I went to a store and asked for a pair of boots that were made in the USA and the clerk said, "Here you go, try these on.", I think I should be able to assume that those boots were made in the USA.

I would like to know how Spalding managed to ship the goods in question without running afoul of Customs. I believe that is a crime, isn't it? Hmm, what's the word... oh yes... smuggling.

My guess is that the jackets were already in warehouse before the embargo. Still think it would be illegal to sell said products but I'm not sure. Would be interesting to hear how/when Spalding got them.

And yes, if the Bush campaign did specify US made products, I would find it hard to blame them for this one.

Conspiracy:
Democrats run Spalding and did this simply to give the Bush/Cheney campaign a black eye. :D

Yes. Issues.

... such as:

... "Will it take long for me to cast my vote? American Idol is on tonight and I don't wanna miss it!"

... "Who's going to be voted off the island on Survivor?"

... "What's going to happen to Martha Stewart?"

... "What is an election?"

I wonder how voting would be if the governments adopted the American Idol voting system...

He went down a notch in mine, but mine's a "to kill..." list, so the idea is to get off the list while you still can...

I watched CNN's "inside the dean campaign", which was sort of reality tv (ok...a little stretch). Anyway, it was really cool to see the "inside". also amazing how fast their castle fell apart.

Anyone, on this... LOL.
