Hsnopi brought up some good ones in his thread about that lame Windows movie, in particular I, Robot and Hellboy. I was wondering if there were any that you were looking forward too.

I personally cannot wait for those two. Asimov pwns my enchanted dream world of escapist reading.

*************************************************

Also, on another note, I am NOT looking forward to these movies coming out:

Constantine. Though it's a wicked DC comic, Keanu Reeves is playing Constantine. Suxors.

Blade: Trinity. Enough with the Wesley Snipes Blade crapola (though I admit to liking them the first time I saw both of them...but 3?) please no.

Curious about The Alamo though. Billy Bob Thornton and Dennis Quaid star, with Emilio EchevarrÃ*a as Santa Ana. Too bad I already know the ending.

*************************************************

On an even brighter note:

WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY IS BEING REMADE!!!!!!!!!
Johnny Depp is playing Wonka. Mother of Pearl! I think it's going to P.W.N. I'd be gay if Depp was.

Pirates of the Carribean 2. I think I'll like it too, as again....mmmm...Depp.

As I mentioned on Hsnopi's thread, I, Robot became the standard by which I judged subsequent sci-fi novels that I read. Asimov spoiled me; science fiction with the emphasis on science.

Science fantasy (in general) never held as strong a place in my reading - perhaps if I'd read Dune first, I'd have a different opinion. That being said, I'll be in line when Hellboy comes out. :D

welli am looking forward to seeing how thety are going to cram all of the 3rd harry potter book into a movie. Also, Indiana Jones 4 is supposed to come outin a couple years. but that has been on plate forever.

Troy, of course, looks aewsome. and Van Helsing. The AvP movie.
OHOH! The Day After Tomorrow

I know it could be horrid but I am going to risk it.

Van Helsing is a character from Brahm Stokers book Dracula. A fearless vampire hunter...

BTW! if you haven't read that book you should it's well done and creepy.......written in the 1800's sometime..

Does Charlie & the chocolate factory really need to be remade?
Can anyone ever top Gene Wilder?

What, do we need a "darker & edger" Willy Wonka?
Aren't Oompa Loompa's politically incorrect now?

Besides, Charlie & the Great Glass Elevator was far weirder and it hasn't been made into a movie yet!

In my opinion, Depp's works have nothing to do with "topping" the original actor or the figure he portrays. I think he'll do his best to be damn near Wilder himself. Look at Ed Wood, Fear and Loathing, Donnie Brasco and his portrayal of Ichabod Crane in The Directors. OMG masterpieces of exactness they were.

He's the greatest actor of my generation, or so I believe.

Although I would like to see some of your greats die a fiery death, I will agree with you on Depp, with the exception of the gay thing.

I think they'd have to have Depp and Tim Burton. Or maybe the Coen Brothers.

Oddly, I agree with SK. I also agree with RTG. Anyone who thinks the original Wonka was not creepy should watch closer... but I think Depp will bring something interesting to the role... and hopefully they will not just "redo" it, but make it new.

Walking Tall with the Rock. Not even sure why but he entertains me even though I rarely, if ever, watch wrastlin. I think it's because he "gets" it. He doesn't get caught up in himself and he has a good time with it all.

Too bad most super hero movies suck. I think I'll wait for Hellboy and Blade 3 to come out on DVD's. I'm not looking forward to any new movies, but there are several DVD's I am interested in getting, such as LotR box set and Matrix 3. I didn't know they were making a sequel to Pirates of the Caribbean. I would definitely watch it in the theater. Gee I wonder if what's her name will be in the sequel, again. Schwing!

He can skateboard, great contribution to humanity. One of the many sports, or hobbies is more apt, that is ONLY enjoyable for the people involved and is horrible to watch/simulate (the Tony Hawk pro skater games  ).

What he contributed to "humanity" was a new state of awareness for the sport that so many kids enjoyed, but weren't taken seriously as athletes. His early succession to the throne of the skating world brought forth a little bit of hope that the age-old euphamism of "you can do anything you want and be good at it, and you will be recognized for it" can come true for a broader range of people. Who would have ever thought before his time that skateboarders or surfers would ever amount to anything but bummed out losers? Now, more kids grow up and say "I want to be a professional boarder" instead of everyone saying "I want to be a cosmonaut/firefighter/pilot/etc." The "extreme" sports such as street luging, motocross, BMXing, snowboarding and the skeleton would not have become so popular if it wasn't for the likes of him and his compatriots, such as Andy MacDonald, Stacy Peralta, Eddie Elguera, Mark Gonzales. There would be no chance of them even being in the Olympics. He deserves a lot more credit than you give him. He is a true pioneer and a role model.

He turned pro at 14 years old. How many 14 year olds can say they have a corporate sponsor? At 16 he won his first world championship. He never made much money at it either in the beginning, which is a shame. Nowadays, pro sk8ers make lots of dough. And they deserve it.

What a classic! I greatly anticipate mocking the remake's aspirations to similar greatness! I'm guessing it won't be a musical...
The movie definitely has a creepy factor; Oompa Loompas may be a major contributor. The boat ride is also very disconcerting; I was very perturbed to notice it had been edited out of a recent network TV airing.

Anyone find it ironic that Dawn of the Dead knocked The Jesus Chainsaw Massacre out of the top spot?

What if Jesus was a Zombie and the whole thing has been a terrible misunderstanding?

im sure its because Passion had been #1 for 3 or 4 weeks now, and i doubt many people saw it more than once, so it was time for the next big film to move in.
