Ever notice that you cat seems to ignore you sometimes? White cats with blue eyes are often deaf (http://www.messybeast.com/whitecat.htm). When they have only one blue eye they are often deaf in just one ear (I believe it is the ear opposite the blue eye though).

The same ear as the side of the blue eye, actually. ...but cats usually ignore you just to p- you off, too. Mine never comes to me when I call him, but every time I utter the word "milk," he comes running from wherever he is, no matter how softly I whisper. And he won't ever let me eat ice cream in peace even though I never give him any, and he should know that by now.
