Some interesting points i read:
"My favorite of the new models was the camouflaged sniper complete with ghillie hood, a leaf-covered tarp that makes you virtually invisible when you lay prone in tall brush."
"the game incorporates a weight-based inventory system"
"expect 30-40 multiplayer maps"
"There is also a full day-night cycle, where about one hour of gameplay translates to a full 24 hours day"
"hoping to support around 100 simultaneous players on the largest of the areas. Novalogic actually had 101 players online at once in the beta, so it's looking good that the 100 player level won't be a problem for final release."
"With 29 drivable vehicles in the game"

This is a online only demo and i saw a few 100 ppl servers full. Fans of BF may like this game as it has different classes and multiple amounts of vehicles you can drive. The maps are absolutely huge and it was pretty smooth from when i played it. I didn't RTFM so i had no idea what to do most of the time but flying the chopper or shooting the guns from the chopper was kinda cool. Or shooting the .50 caliber guns on top of jeeps or armored vehicles was interesting as well. I haven't played BF so I can't give a good comparison in the game but i think it has potential. There are different classes, such as, engineers, medics, riflemen and snipers to name a few.
It's definitely a pretty game and has alot of potential. Check it out if you have the chance, the DL is about 200 megs.

How long are you looking to get out of your investment? BattlefieldVietNam is quite the rage now, while BF Desert Combat still has quite a loyal following. If you get BF1942, the download for DC is free, at least for now.

Downloading as well. If the game is half as good as they make it sound it could be worth buying.

Right, first impressions, based on the one map provided with the demo:
In-game browser seems to lock up at times, don't worry, it's just gathering all the information.
100-slot servers! Woohoo!
You can queue to get into servers. It also shows how long you have waited and how many people are in front of you in the queue. Nice feature.
Scenery textures are U.G.L.Y. (they ain't got no alibi). Disappointed by this... everything maxed too.
Player models are quite nice.
Some of the voice chats are funny - especially the rebels'. "We're on water!"
Standing on top of the high mountains, it's easy to see the sheer scale of the game. Impressive.
Have you ever seen the "UFO" videos where the object in the sky seems to change direction and velocity at the drop of a hat? Well, that's what the vehicles seem to be like, especially the Littlebirds. They lack fluency.
It will take a while to get used to it, it's hard to tell where exactly you have been pitched into the battle. If you thought BF was difficult at first in this regard...
Anyway, these were only my initial impressions, more to come, maybe... :)
Damn thing keeps crashing my computer. I really don't want to have to buy a new video card but this is like the third demo I've tried that did this. Bah, off to install drivers again.

The original Delta Force demo always crashed my computer when I had my old GeForce 2. Don't know which card you have but if it's any consolation... :)
After a painstaking process of completely removing ATI software and trying 3 different drivers, I got it to work on Catalyst 4.1. I just wish it had been worth it after all that.
Graphics are pretty boring. Hard to tell what the game plays like w/o a decent group of players. Regardless, I have a feeling that I'll be passing this one by...

<sigh> Another dissappointment. :(
DL'ing anyway just in case you're all lying to me to keep my l337 sk1llz out of there. ;)
FWIW - getting 312KB/s DL right now. Must be after the mad rush. 9 more minutes. Bet if I turned off the pr0n DL's it'd go faster yet. :D

I LOVE this game. the graphics are good already(its only a beta) and the vehicles are fun.
I'm actually good at this game for one. the current mode in the demo is call "advance and secure". that translates to : push mode-like in DC.
You can actually go under water for a limited period of time to take cover. The vehicles pwn and so do the weapons. The game is very realistic with damage. It doesnt take much to kill you and it doesnt take an infinite amount of stingers to kill a chopper.
I'll feinately be buying this game when it comes out in May.
