Seriously, be careful. As of now they have no suspect, and the shooter is still at large. Dang... I have to drive out to a job site at dawn, too.

I want to see some bobbin' and weavin' on your way to the car from the buildings. Freak your coworkers out for once. They'll be laughing at you too, until they get shot.

LOL! I don't know about bobbing and weaving, but I'll definitely try not to to stand around in one spot too long, for sure. Anyway, this sniper apparently took shots at passing cars, and two cars - one yesterday and another tonight - were hit, but with no injuries or deaths so far. Knock on wood...

You're sure it's not this guy? (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2004/03/17/STANDOFF.TMP)
So just what was this guy planning on doing? Aside from getting his name in the papers?

I don't know what that one is all about, but the one I am concerned about shot at vehicles passing along US 101 freeway near Capistrano, which is about an hour and half to two-hour drive from where I live. If he has the kind of mobility the "Beltway sniper" had, he can pop up pretty much anywhere in California. I just got back in the office after doing some field work in the morning. When I drove out at dawn, the sniper was actually the furthest thing on my mind. I had to go to a job site in another county, and I was more concerned about not getting lost.

It's those damn religious fundamentalists.
If you're not a spam-eating Catholic be on your guard.
I'm not that good at finding hiding places.

Well, I lived through the DC sniper shootings in our area... Kinda funny, I think only one of the sniper shootings occured in DC yet that's what its known as. Anyway, I really did nothing different. I figured that I was one person in a sea of thousands. The likelihood that I would be a target is minimal. I kept my eyes open for suspicious activity but I sure as heck wasn't going to bob-and-weave my way around the gas pumps. Remember to keep things in perspective.

youre a harder target to hit in a crowd of hundreds than hiding by yourself in the corner ;)

They caught the suspect. It'd be interesting to find out just what the heck he was thinking. It was said that they found him where they 'expected' a suspect to be located. If he were to play the games we play, he'd be the guy you'd find in the same spot over and over. Kind of reminds me of that one guy I stabbed at least 6-7 times while he was sniping from the hill on Fuel Dump. :D

First off, I'd like to say....I'm in texas....it ain't me.

Secondly, OC rules. No shootin's down in my neck of the woods. Take THAT Los Angeles!
