I have an IBM "Deathstar" (but works great) 60gnb. I notice that when booting from it ( I have a dual boot machine) It runs significantly slower than my other hard drive. Only when booting. Upon running a utility called "bootvis" it told me "warning! disc caching not enabled". I checked the settings and it IS enabled. Does this mean my HD is due to die soon?
My jumper settings are set correctly (its the slave drive) but no matter what I do I can't get it to enable disc caching (according to bootvis). Any idears?
