ok I just downloaded the new ATI catalyst drivers.
I looked through it and saw a bunch of stuff that I never looked at before.
it is set to direct 3D. should it be set to open GL?
the Smartgear says the AGP is in fact off. I think I am going ot look int he bios and see if it is off for some reason. I have an Asus A7A-266.
i tried to turn it to 4x and test but it reset it to off
no idea why.
ayone else run into this?

catalyst is a really complex driver suite, i just let it do its thing usually. and if a game uses opengl, then the driver should auto-switch. its not just a one or the other setting.

ah ok.
cod seems to run smoother.
In BF DC when the options menu opens it is in some "letterbox" format like yu see movies in. But switches to normal when I play.

Hsnopi, if your games are running fine, the default settings should be fine, unless you want to start fiddling with Anti-Aliasing and the like.

Well, I ignorantly left my AGP at 2X in the BIOS for a couple of weeks after I got my 9600XT. The modern-day BIOS is quite a morass, maybe you might root around a little more?
