John, for the record, I was one of two that voted not to kick you. Just remember that. :sigh:
Its not fun even when it was an innocent prank... or a panzer-wielding good guy accidentally killing a teammate to save the docs. :swg:

Stopwatch rulez!!! Nothing like having an almost perfect run and seeing the other guys try to beat it.

We set the bar high on Castle last night... I jumped into the truck with the gold with less than five minutes expired... then we switch sides and TWENTY minutes on the clock!!! We still pwned 'em.

Is weapon switching enabled? I found that my old bind for that didn't work (along with some others...)?

settings looked pretty good (after changing the medic recharge... it was killing me at one point) ... question... I wasn't sure if this was in fact happening, but I thought for a minute I couldn't pick up medpacks I had dropped... but it might have been the drugs affecting me... and I dig those chat shortcuts, very nice

Drugs aside, I can't think of a setting that wouldn't allow you to pick up health packs except a shrub setting that specifies whether a medic can fed themselves packs while carrying an objective. It is disabled by default according to the documentation but I am finding in a few cases that I still have to add a line item for things in the shrub config. Let me know if you see this under these circumstances and I will do so.

How about thoughts on the rotation? If a change is in order I say we do it now before everyone starts playing. I have an alternate rotation using the same maps with MG and NB still AB objective mode - no time limit and all others as 15 minute ABBA stopwatch mode. What say you VSF?

well, I actually like the rotation the way it is, though I know Schultz want's some Tank. :D

What say you and others about increasing the time limit to 20 minutes? Sometimes 15 feels rather short when you've got a really close match and it's slow making headway.

Lol Horace!! JK!!
I know we are using the same rules from CCM, but just wanted to make sure..kill/revive (oh know the door is opened) illegal? misdemeanor? felony? ok...cuz I am used to doing that in ET now. If its a no no, I will curb my desire to headshoot my teamates and poke em in da rear! Thinking about joining that show on the usa network

If Art said it was gospel, then I tuned up my voice and sang in the choir.
And now we know the real reason for the demise of CCM. JT's singing drove Art nuts.

Are underwater revives enabled? That's awesome (and somewhat needed on a full server of Market Garden.)

Also, I had some problems getting in last night which appears to be related to my name. I finally did though.

I'm not sure if it was because of extended ascii or because Gasser has an a$$ in it -- in more ways than one.

Absolutely. One of the coolest features of shrub IMO.

It was the a$$. I was using the default 'bad names' entry included with the bot, which contained a$$. I edited to remove that so you should be fine now.

I was thinking that just last night after reading his thoughts on rule 7.

Don't worry RuperT....being compared to klaus is a good thing...I think  ....now tell us where you got your voice recognition software! :D

I saw several TK/revives last night. I just kept my mouth shut because in as much as we might like to think so, to rob a line from the old Buick commercial, this ain't your father's CCM. Lots of the rules we held as sacrosanct at CCM were imported here, but are being relaxed across the affiliate game servers. For instance, if your name is vulgar, but funny, its okay. I am not saying there's anything wrong with that necessarily, just that its different from what we are used to. Its a hard and non-objective standard, but that is not my concern as long as the admins feel they can handle it. I wouldn't want my son playing in that environment, but that's another issue. As a community member, I will help admins enforce the rules that are set forth by those who own the resources I play on... not just the ones I agree with (which is the way it was at CCM).

There was a huge misconception about me at CCM, i.e. the Horace Hardass reputation (which I think is unfair). There were rules at CCM I didn't necessarily agree with, but I would have never said that while an admin there, at least not in an open forum. If Art said it was gospel, then I tuned up my voice and sang in the choir. I never viewed myself as a policy maker, but an enforcer of the policy. When Art asked my opinion, I gave it to him. Otherwise, I enforced the rules he "hired" me to enforce. Cops don't make law, they enforce it. I always considered myself and WT the sheriff and chief of police and Art the Mayor/City Council. That is why I was the one that most of the deputies came to for coaching and advice. That and the fact that Art scared the bejeezus out of some of them.

Because I was charged with enforcing the letter of the law and took Art as the role model, I never saw my job with gray area. You violate the rules, you get kicked. End of story. I never, ever thought anyone should have been banned for whining for example (kicked maybe after it go annoying). But that was a pet peeve of Art's and he never hesitated to pull the trigger. I was particularly mindful of that when he was on the server because it was not something that set off a bell with me the way a string of "F" bombs might.

I am getting all RuperT/klausian, so I will stop now.

the way you policed the server and the way art admin'd the server were 2 completely different methods. art was quite subjective and many times warned pople regardless if they were n00bs or regs. you policed the server like you were god, no subjectivity at all it was your way or no way. i miss ccm but i do not miss the dictatorship it had become under your reign.
personally, i like the way the servers are policed now. in many instances everyone gets a warning first then the heave ho. was playing some coral sea with mash yesterday and there were so many KH's he spent most of his time kicking......did they all get warnings? no but i don't think a single person was kicked that didn't deserve it. in a perfect world we would all be perfect but for now we will have to settle for mediocrity.
