i bought a motherboard at frys like a year ago, but it kinda sucked so i scrapped it and bought a nforce 2.

but now i have a spare cpu to use, and i would love to have a living room pc, so i'm going to state the motherboard, and what it did.

its a fic at31

it has an integrated radeon (not sure wich one)
via chipset
onboard sound.

the thing it did, was that it just froze.

if i was using office, it would run ok. i start an emulator (doesn't matter wich) and it froze. ran wolf, had some graphic glithches, but it ran. played age of empires the conquerors, and the game would always mark desincronization error (even on single player games). on some videos and dvd's it showed some 'color points' on the screen, kinda like a blown pixel on an lcd display.

i did install teh 4 in 1 drivers.

oh, btw, i am using the same procesor as i was on that motherboard and the same ram. so i am sure that it wasnt any of these 2 components.

my guess is that the onboard video isnt good enough. usually it isnt. you'll probably have to throw in an AGP or PCI card in there.

From a review at Game PC.com

"ATI's Radeon IGP 320 combined with the FIC AT-31 motherboard, to put it nicely, is a terrible platform. We haven't had so many problems with a motherboard crashing and giving us strange scores in years"
