Amazing to see names I literally haven't seen in 12 months. I had dejavu so many times, it concerned me.

I can't apologize enough for the Dome's poor performance tonight. We will research the problems and have her in tip-top shape for the next go around (which, if tonight is any indication, will be sooner rather than later). Thanks again for the great turn-out. I was hoping to bring just a few of the old fools around, but I never dreamed we would get so many old faces back.

Some screenies of the event:

Thanks for having us, dude!

I had a blast ... got to play some Tram ... snipe Hick ( and get sniped by Hick). Gasser calling for engineers, MASH with his trusty needle, and even some NB and MG.

MASH, thanks a lot for the effort you put into making this happen. It's been a long time since we've all played the same game together.

Despite the CI's I had a really good time, and it was nice to see most of the old names again.

(see TS section for my apology)

Thanks again MASH!

Came very close to throwing my PC out the second floor window. But I couldn't keep it from crashing. Each time I tried to play, I got 2 minutes before it would crash. :| Oh well, got a new one on the way, hopefully you get the turn out you got this time again next time. :(

I had a lot of issues too at new map start... the old limbo sort of area where you can hear everyone else playing, but you can't do a damn thing... grayed out.

Makes me realize how much more stable CoD is!

Mash, I had a truly wonderful time playing with the old gang last night! Even the teamkills and CI's couldn't put a damper on the overall attitude of everyone. (The proof of that can be the remembered laughter being heard on TS last night!!!)

It was great and I hope that we can all get together again SOON!

I think everyone had some small problems and CIs but honestly, nobody can tell me it wasn't worth packing the Dome with all the old time regs. It was a slightly surreal experience, one that I wouldn't mind repeating.

MASH, kudos to you and the FX boys for making it possible. Don't worry about the server problems man. It was a great night and you made it possible.

The stress of trying to find out what the problems with the server were last night LITERALLY drove MASH insane, as seen here below....

In the time I was able to play, interacting with (read: 'being killed by') the old-timer regs like threeBs, lowrider, Hooters, Naz, etc. brought back memories of FOG I from a bygone era.

Had the same problem(s) as SpongeBot; I'd forgotten how touchy RtCW is even under the best of circumstances.

Playing on a pair of networked PCs late night seemed to compound the problem. Blastiid and I could both play for 3-5 minutes at a stretch, then it was good night Irene for both of us. CIs weren't the problem - although we got our fair share - these were crashes to desktop, perpetual map-load screen, freezes w/o benefit of a sound loop. Really weird stuff.

One of us could play relatively unscathed, so I watched from the sidelines.

Just another sacrifice a father makes for his son (at least it'll be good for a guilt-trip or 2). 8)

I hate I got in late due to family commitments. But even though I missed out on Market Garden and Ice because I didn't bother downloading the right maps in anticipation of missing everything, I still enjoyed the brief time I played... even though I played through lag and TKed almost everything that moved on Tram (actually I really enjoyed TKing everyone on Tram)... I enjoyed the brief time we all spent together. We need to work out the kinks and do this again soon.

I had a great time playing the ol' skool wolf with everyone. I remember riding in the tram thinking it was like a time machine.

Thanks a ton MASH, that was a blast even with the tech. difficulties. I felt right at home behind the Allied MG42 on MG, with Lt. Hooters n RobRoy feeding me ammo. Too bad the rounds ended so quick. Wish I got to play NB.

Even getting TKed by JT 100 times was fun ! I'd forgotten about your KingArthur alias. Miss playing with you guys, you should come play CoD more. :D

I was amazed at some of the old familiar names myself. Methinks the VSF forums have many unofficial members who just read and haven't signed up. Or playing under new names, with the old ones still in their RTCW config.

I got a few screenshots, does anyone have any extra space to host some ?

I had to attend a driver re-training class at 8AM, so I wouldn't have been able to play late anyway. But, let's do this again soon. Then I can get good n liquored up n sing Puff the Magic Dragon with (who was that, Doc Strangelove ?) on TS. That was freakin hilarious when you said "Ready, all togther on the count of three... One... Two... Three !" Followed by complete silence !

It was a run, stumble, and dump kinda night for the server... I got on at the end of MG but my default RtCW config was the one from the mario map and doesn't not work properly. So I jumped off the server, copied my shrub config into the main directory and jumped back on.. MG was over.. :(

Base was on and I then realized that I had forgotten what all my binds were. I ended up hitting a demo-related bind that switched the g_synchronousclients to 1 and everything went slideshow - ack! Rather than try to muddle through, I jumped off again, deleted the config and let RtCW create a default one when I logged back in.. .. and Base was over.. :(

So, Chateau was on and I was named Wolfplayer - I changed my name, bound toggle keys for showfps and lagometer but otherwise left the config.

Between fighting with my config files and the CIs, I got to enjoy some fun fragging. I had a good time, saw some old yet familiar names, and would really enjoy the opportunity to do it again with less CIs. :)

A huge thanks to all those who helped host the evening and to all those players who made the whole thing fun.

I hated missing out on this one, guys....probably the first FOG that I've ever missed......just very tough for me these days to get in some gaming time on the weekends. Hopefully I'll be around the next time you get together.....if something is going on during the week, let me know and I'll join in on the fun. Glad to see that RTCW is still a classic.

Hope you guys enjoyed the TK-free environment
