Personally, I find that DC wears off on me a month or two after each release. I don't know what it is. Maybe the weaponry is too powerful and I see the struggle to find a decent balance. They'll never win. Choppers are either too easy to knock down, or it takes too many stingers. They'll never win. One of the problems associated with a mod such as this, each version being released to the public domain.

Not saying I'll never play again or that I don't like it... just that I'd rather play other games at the moment. Maybe if someone invested in some furry dice for me to dangle above my cockpit, then I'd reconsider...

He is due back today... and how can you get tired of a DC release two months after... by design, they release a new update every 36 days or so.

youre running it from your work pc? im impressed at how smoothly it runs! maybe i should set one up on my PIII 600mhz old pc here once my ISP increases my bandwidth next month! :D

Server is back up. Looks like it was a power supply failure. I could not get the machine to POST, and the fans in the back would not come on.

Luckily, we have another machine that is an exact model. Swapped hard drives, and we are up and running.

Of course, this had to happen when I was away.

Well, work PC = Dell Precision Workstation, 2.0 Ghz Xeon processor, 512mb RAMBUS ram (I think, there are 2 memory blanks in the extra slots). Basically a server class machine without a SCSI subsystem.

So, that and an underutilized T1, and presto, BF-DC. Now, if it was a true server class machine, the redundant power supply would have helped in this case.
