here is what i know about my computer:
HP Pavilion
AMD Athalon processor
512 RAM
not a clue what kind of video card.
my problem(s):
installed the FarCry demo but cant play it, i get the main menu but when i load the level i get al sort of graphical errors and i cant play it. was wondering:
a)where can i find out my video card?
b)how do i update it if need be?

right-click anywhere on your desktop (not on an icon) and goto properties->settings. Should list your video card there.
Farcry demo requires ati drivers cat3.9 and nvidia drivers 53.03+
I think JT was having some troubles with this as well.
I may have to download this demo if more of you people keep having trouble with it. lol

i have a Nvidia Geforce4 MX 420..what does that mean?

Means the updated drivers you want to get are found at www.nvidia.com
Download and update your drivers and see if that helps.

Save it (I'm assuming you mean the Nvidia drivers) to anywhere you can find it easily. After you save it you double click on the executable and run it. The program should be automated and take you through the driver install.
For manual installation.
There will be an option to extract the files from the download. Extract them to a known location (create new folders if you need to). Then from device manager (right-click Mycomputer->properties->hardware->devicemanager in windowsNT or right-click Mycomputer->properties->devicemangaer in win9x) select view devices by type. open the tree "display adapter". Select the video card. Select the drivers tab. And select update drivers. When prompted for a location, point it to where you extracted the inf files.
