I'm looking for a new optical mouse since my MS Explorer is dying on me, it sometimes won't respond for a second (which is enough to get me killed). It's also 4 years old so I'm not mad at MS either.

I've been looking at the Logitech's website and saw the new MX900! I don't think it's out yet but where would a good place to find the cheapest hardware on the planet? :?

bok get one of the new ms optical mice with the tiltable scroll wheel. it won't be long before someone writes an applet that will enable the lean fuctions for the wheel.

you tried one yet NV? the tilt function sucks IMO. its like really hard to click the scroll wheel as a button w/o tilting it one direction or the other :| its a good step in the right direction, but i'd wouldnt use it for gaming

I have the corded Logitech Dual Optical, which came highly recommended. It is better than the wireless opticals (pre MX700 models), but I have not been overly impressed that it tracks any better than any other corded optical mouse I have had.

I am going back to a Microsoft mouse next. Primarily because the game functionality (not performance necessarily) is a little better for wheel button and third and fourth buttons. I cannot get the Logitech third and fourth mouse buttons to work consistently in games and not at all in Quake-based games like RtCW, ET and CoD.

I've also been worrying about what JTFazz is saying as well. I know that MS mouse will be supported 100% with the functionalities without the need to install new software (you all should know by now that I hate installing softwares!) I always use my thumb button to talk on ventrilo and I'm afraid it's gonna be the end of me if logitech's thumb button won't be working without having to install software for it.

As for the tilting scroll, I do like the idea but I rather not use it that way since it will probably break the wheel much faster than pressing the leaning keys on the keyboard.
