Okay stayed quiet poltically long enough!!!
For all you uneducated (not all)Americans...Canada join both the first world war and the second world war 2 years before your carpetbagging government decided to join.Meanwhile making trillion of dollars on arms and steel sales...I'm sorry if I've crossed the line here but either the education system in the U.S. needs to be upgraded or the youth should be seen and not heard saying could be applied....By the end of WWII (hick corrected once before) Canada had a volunteer army of over 1 million with a population of just over 10 million.....% wise we gave as much if not more blood than any other nation...Our troops were also the ginuea pigs for most invasion plans....so please use a little judgement ........

About the giving blood part. We lost more per capita than the U.S., but if you turn your attention to the Eastern front, let's just say we should be happy Canada didn't lose 22 million people.
I'd rather not try to compete over who can lose the most of their own blood.

Back on topic, I'm looking forward to some new maps for Vanilla. And this one looks sweet. Back off topic, Canucks sacrificed quite a lot to the war efforts, and get little American recognition for it (from the general masses), so here's some from me. Thanks for the help. Now, don't expect any more soft moments from me regarding Canada in the future; my plans for the annexation of what shall be known as 'The Great Northern State' shall continue on schedule. And enough nonsense about that silly metric system.

its not like im the first/only person in history to ever make a comment on Canada's lack of world involvement compared to other countries...
and about the US's education system: everyone knows that history is taught from the view that makes one's own country look like the best or in the right. our section on WW2 in high school history was pretty much just what US did and thats it.
LilPuppy

Actually Ignus this was not directed at you personally , please beleive that(my comments) but on the choice of cowards and latecomers and that is part of my rant on the education system...Up hear we are taught a fair amount of your countries history...it intertwines with ours , impacts ours but also because as each nations largest trading partner and sharing the world's longest undefended(guess until now) border and I strongly feel that is a problem down there. Our country was involved a lot earlier than your's on both conflicts...yet always thought as an after thought down there and the thinking that America won it all by themselves ....sorry that's how I feel and percieve things :|

Accusing a country of cowardice is only reserved for France. Please refrain from making France look braver than they are by lumping Canada in with them.
Anyone who actually PAID ATTENTION in school knows that Canada fought gallantly in both wars. In fact, many countries all around the globe fought in those conflicts. Now that I think about it, maybe that's why they called them WORLD WARS!!!!

What I glean from this is that Canadians apparently have British accents and that French Canadians are the only Canuck Cowards... frankly, Canadians sound a lot like Americans from Minnesota, North Dakota and various other places around the border.

Ignus, 2 minute penalty. Go to the box.
Canadians, put your gloves back on (i saw all that foil you cheeky bastidges).
As acting referree, let me set the record straight so we can move on without any more ambiguity.
Canadian involvement in international conflicts since 1900 = 8
American involvement in international conflicts since 1900 = 9
While those are totally made up numbers, since I said them as referee, they are now fact. so stfu already.
*also, to further some more debate, French people are not cowards. Though their government surrendered quickly a few times, their military are not so inept. They've made some very important stands in global battles and they're commando units and Foreign Legion are among the bravest souls on the planet (Coalition forces use them as expendable first-in units and they're happy to oblige. They get the job done). We had French AND American units train with us in jump-school (and we went to both places as well) and in my opinion, they're on equal footing. They're modern army is an elite force. They're police are second to none (they have Inspector Clouseau!).
Any word on Canadian weapons? It appears some of the vehicles have changed, but what guns did the Canadians fight with? American ones, I'm guessing...

Well, I was only using a stereotype to lighten the mood a bit. I realize that French soldiers are not cowards (or any soldier for that matter). French politicians on the other hand (or any politician for that matter) definitely qualify. For instance, besides Rummy and Powell, what other top level officials in this current goverment, who were so quick to put troops on the ground in Iraq prior to 9/11, served their country (and showed up, ahem, GWB)?

They used both British and American arms, but mostly British in WWII.
Canadians paratroops were issued Lee Enfields AND the Garand, though they used the garand AFTER the war. The Sten AND the Thompson were used by regular ground forces, as well as the Bren and the Vickers.

French fries are... ummm... not Canadian. The only thing worse than bean curd, is cheese curd. And I am guessing the thick gravy is to hide the fact that its French Fries and to neutralize the cheese curd.

More ferocious? Sure, OK. More effective? Hmmm...
It's funny how we ascribe these attributes (bravery, dedication) to an entire nation's army. I submit that an individual soldier of the time, squatting in some hole and covered in blood and piss, couldn't reliably tell you what army he was from, much less their military doctrine.

Yes, his 'unseatedness' is the most interesting thing about that screenshot. It would be really amazing if they could mod the BF engine to allow weapon firing while seated (that headrest is awfully close); I seem to recall that it's been deemed impossible (good morning, BF:Vietnam).

'None'? I wish...
Hey, I love Alabama (and not for the sports, either)! I didn't say it was RIGHTFULLY the traditional whipping-boy.
BTW, Elmo is HUNG! I can't say your sheep fetish sublimination is really appropriate here though...

Oh Jeebus Monty, LMAO! Can't believe I didn't notice!

Thanks a bunch, guys. I'll never look at Sesame Street the same way again. Jim Henson is rolling over in his grave as I type.

Now come on. Anyone with kids has taken their Bouncing Tigger and another unsuspecting stuffed animal and let Tigger loose on them.

i want to be on Canada's team int he next vanilla night!:D and o along the lines of unjustly making fun of Canada, Australia fought just as hard(not quite the amount of time i believe but just as hard) as our troops in the pcific, and you guys should know that the Japanese were far more ferocious warriors than the Krauts. A number of Australian units also did some of the toughest jobs in Vietnam but does anyone but the veterans give them any praise? no. :x odd if you ask me. that a country that gives as much as Canada, and pretty much knowing that they wont be remembered as much as other countries, gets so little recognition. and on the topic of US edjumacation. if it was good. Kentucky wouldn't exist.
More ferocious? Sure, OK. More effective? Hmmm...
It's funny how we ascribe these attributes (bravery, dedication) to an entire nation's army. I submit that an individual soldier of the time, squatting in some hole and covered in blood and pee-pee, couldn't reliably tell you what army he was from, much less their military doctrine.
Oh, and if we're going to start insulting Southern North Americans instead of Northern North Americans, Alabama is the traditional whipping boy.
Watch yourself, flyboy... I have a fresh can of "admin whupass" I have been dying to open. Besides, I think its Mississippi to which you refer.
Funny how everyone loves to pound on on Alabama, even though the only Alabamian on the forums uses better grammar and spelling than most of you put together.
And Southern North Americans would be citizens of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaraugua, Costa Rica, Panama, Grenada, Trinidad, Belize, Haiti, the Domincan Republic, Barbados, St. Lucia, etc. .... all of the Continental United States is in Central North America.
Good catch.
Oh, and don't you know that writing a post touting your superior grammar will cause several mistakes to spontaneously appear in that same post?
You're making South Central North Americans look bad!
Invariably...
And as a resident of the state that inspired this contraption, I wouldn't be talking... :D

Don't lable a county that is 80% populated by retired Snow Birds as being citizens of Florida. The rest of us didn't have any problems.
The majority of Alabama having felony convictions was the only thing that kept it from happening there.
