...or an alternative.
I'm recently having to shy away from IE as somehow another user on my machine here at work was screwing around and installed some kind of nastiness from a popup, probably by accident...and I can't get rid of it. I unstalled the offending bastidge and ran spybot and adware and whathave you, but popups just won't quit on EVERY page i go to.
So, i'm now using Mozilla as IE has angered me. However, I noticed a lot of things that this browser does not support. For instance, most of my bookmarked links are cyrillic and point to other language sites, however, when I go to the bookmark section and scroll down to pick one, all i get are a bunch of "??? ???? ???? ????" crap. I've changed all my encoding to windows cyrillic and whathaveyou, but can't seem to lick the prob.
I know I really want to uninstall IE and reinstall it, but the problem won't go away as I know the popup program that offends me has attached itself somewhere on here that I can't find, somewhere outside my IE directories. It's really bothersome.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Is Netscape any easier? I really need a lot more language support than what Mozilla is giving me.
Any ideas?

from what I gathered from my reading on their site... some of their users/developers are working on various language enhancements, one of which is cyrillic

BTW Mozilla and Netscape are pretty much the same thing. Another browser I have heard people give props to is Opera. Mozilla really is a great browser and when they get cryllic working you should convert.

Did you try changing the default language? It defualts to English. Goto Edit>Preferences Under Navigator you will see Languages. Under Character Coding you will see several options for Cyrillic.
Lets us know if that works.

We don't have room for all the problems with IE.
Security holes
Written for ease of use rather than security allowing every SPAMMER and hacker to write SIMPLE code to create huge problems.
here, try the latest

Mozilla Firebird is my new favorite with Opera coming in a strong second place. I user IE for work so it's just a habit at this point.

I downloaded the latest version from their website, not the beta.
It doesn't matter though. I have to deal with IE until I can find an alternate browser with cyrillic support. Probably 7/10ths of my links are cyrillic.
I absolutely loathe Bill Bloody Gates now.
Thanks all. Sorry to bother ya.

I've used both Mozilla and Opera (and IE). Currently, I use Opera exclusively, as I found Mozilla to be a memory-hog. You might consider giving Opera a chance, as it's also free and won't bother you with those annoying popups once you turn them off in the preferences section...

You may want to go with the Beta and see how that works for you... I flip btw Firebird and the Betas all the time... subtle diffs between the both of them I like equally...

About halfway down the page, there are a bunch of links for spyware/exploit fixers.
Someone had a problem here at work with being redirected to a search site all the time (and I think some porn pop ups). Anyway, hijackthis helped in finding out what was going on. Bunch of stuff in the registry and and .exe had to be deleted.

One way of dealing with pop-ups is listing the ad-servers in your hosts file and assigning the an address of 127.0.0.1 to the server. This forces IE to load information from the new IP address for the URL
