RCON info

I just thought I'd drop these links in here so those with rcon access could refer to them if needed.

The latter is, obviously, intended for RtCW but I included it because some of these capabilities may become available in the future. The former link is more on target and informative.

Looks like there are several ban commands... none of which work... :( :( :( There are rumors of an upcoming patch, maybe it will be addressed therein.

At CCM only the three senior admins ever had the RCON password. It was pretty damn scary for me to have it and have little training in using it...

Art and I would get on MSN Messenger and he would walk me through some things... I would tend to get a little over zealous and get ahead of him. He would scare me half to death by typing in OMG! What did you do? Don't ever do that again... Then he would laugh his ass off as I scrambled to explain myself.

I was a little squeamish about giving out the rcon password, but since there is no alternate way of giving deputy or partial access to players (similar to ET's ref function) I figured giving rcon access is better than leaving things as they were.

I've been doing a lot of programming at work this week and I've seen a few of the temp admins "testing" out the abilities on an empty server, it's kinda funny to see. Nobody has shut the server down yet :D

Ignus or Doc restarted on accident. It was pretty funny. They were testing commands with Rcon and then suddenly "server disconnected".
