Ever since I got into these games a year ago, my monitor has always been a little dark. In ET and COD i can get around this by changing the brightness in game. In BF, i can't. In-fact the only way i can find to change the brightness enough to play that new DC map, Op, Bragg, is to run ET in the background with it's brightness tweaked up. There has got to be a way, in windows XP, that i can up the brightness...
I have the brightness and contrast turned all the way up on the monitor.
Windows XP, SP? maybe 1?
Nvidea card, i think it's a gforce?
It's a dell, and i think they only come with g-forces
I've tried several monitors, and have fooled around with this problem since i got this new system last year.

If you have a geforce card and have the nvida drivers installed with the nvidia control panel. You should be able to adjust the "gamma" level through
[control panel]->[display]->[settings]->[advanced]->[geforce settings]
Or whatever the nvida control preference tab is called...
BTW.
You can verify what video card you have by going
[start]->[run]->[dxdiag]->[video]

Control Panel --> Display --> Settings --> Advanced --> [your card's] nVidia Tab - - open the slide-out menu on the left side of the window and click on "Color Correction".
There is a Gamma Correction in there that should bring you into the light. :)
EDIT: d'oh! SB99 got here first. SB96, do something about this guy. :|

there should be a dial or menu option on your monitor that adjusts brightness
