COD server - VSF Gamers Northeast

Hi folks,

I'm putting up COD on my server at work today. For the most part the bandwidth at my work should be available for gaming, so the server should be able to support 20-24 players. My company's T-1 is connected through SBCGlobal/SNET in Hartford, CT so I'm not sure how the performance will be for everyone but it's available for any of the VSF/old CCM'ers who want to have a COD server that they can call home. If it serves a need and becomes useful I will keep it running permanently.

Right now it's set to run a mixture of team deathmatch, behind enemy lines, search and destroy and retrieval, but I can change that if needed. I'm not up on whats happening with the mods and tools for COD yet but I will be in a few days, so if there are some worthwhile enhancements I can add them to the server. I do know there is a patch coming in another week or so, which I can add once it's available.

The server name is VSFGamers Northeast COD available in the in-game broswer, or by ip at 204.60.104.124.

Thank you so much man, this is awesome. Now we have our own place to frag each other. I also like having the gamemodes rotate. I will definetly be playing there. I just checked my ping and it is under 100. 8)

I have this red dot crosshair pk3 file that I'd love to use. I'm sure others would use it also. The server is pure so you'd have to put it on the server for us to use. If you're interested, I will send you the file by email so you can take a look.

It's just a simple crosshair, good for those of us that prefer using a static crosshair over the current one which retracts. Any interest in this?

OK, I just installed CoD yesterday and was trying to find this on ASE, but couldn't... do otheres see it there?

in ASE click the server menu>new server> select cod from dropdown list, enter IP and check the box for "add to favourites"

if all went right you should see it in your favourites now.

Since you wouldn't be logging into Verants servers anymore you wouldn't need to have an active account. The software redirects logon requests to your own server. If you had enough bandwidth you could setup your own server and have friends play online - there are already several people doing this. Anyone who plays needs to make accounts on your server but it only takes a few minutes to set them up.

Most of the spawns are in place, loot, experience, vendors, quests, equipment and spells are all working. There are still some things in the real game that aren't in place but I'm sure given time they will be. It's worth checking out, even if just to explore some of the high end dungeons that most people who aren't in uberguilds will never see.

Menzel....so many hugs and thanks to-night a good 6-7 hrs. on the server with regs. dropping in and out(mostly full all the time :D )...(10-14 regs. on mostly) good games,ssoo many laughs on TS ........but on a sad note our behaviour was to be desired....layoff the votes guys..I was as guilty as the next on this but .....Other than that and NV it was a great night wasted... :D

I was pretty trashed, so I refrained from getting on TS, but I had an enjoyable time, nonetheless. If it wasn't for the fact that I decided to keep this server on my favorites menu (despite seeing it empty almost every time I looked for the past month or so), I'd have missed out on the opportunity. I installed autokick today on the COD server. It's got a few console message, will kick anyone with a ping higher than 400 for 4 consecutive checks, and will remove profane names (only a few in the list as of now).

Few people, us included obviously, like to play on an empty server. Somebody has to the first guy. The game is new enough for us that we can spend some time exploring every nick and corner of the maps in the meantime.

My dad bought a Gateway computer some years ago. He took the box, mounted legs, a head, and a tail on it and stood it in his front yard as a cow. He lives in an old farmhouse so it fits in...

I don't think so. There were quite a few non-regs on the server when I left though. BEL mode seemed pretty popular. Not that many servers run it since its a little off the wall, but I like it and you get to keep respawning into the game. I wouldn't want the server to be entirely BEL, but its a nice break in the routine.

I'm open to changing the map rotation to whatever the regs prefer. Right now it's set to a mixture of maps and modes..I believe everything except deathmatch. If the server sees regular use I'd be happy to give some VSF members admin/rcon access - that will should help keep the :kh:s to a minimum :)

I think most regs would agree that all modes would be appreciated. A mix of SD, then BEL, and TDM would mix things up. I personally would like to see that HURTGEN never gets near the rotation. I hate this map.

This is WHAT I SHOULD HAVE SAID. I have no major prob with the map, it's just that this map turns into a snipe fest, with me, NV, Pup, Rob and Dr. Strange moving up while the other 400 million ppl sick back and snipe. I really love meleeing ppl now on this map. I vary my weapons too. Each one sounds a little different as u crush someones skull. I like the sounds when using a pistol or PF
