I had to uninstall the darn thing because I kept getting the "pak/sum mismatch error" or whatever, and when I re-installed it and tried to start a new game, I got the same error.

It's driving me Miss Daisy!

If I don't get past the Pavlov map by the end of this weekend, I'm going to go bat-guano crazy.

Balac, after you uninstalled, did you delete the 'Call of Duty' folder that remained?

If not, try it again, deleting the folder. Then install again. It should work.

I know now what it is, but not specifically.

When I deleted everything after the uninstall, then reinstalled it fresh, it worked. However, when I added the backup files I had (maps and downloads) to the new main folder, it quit working.

Somewhere in there is a file from Alous Mixer that kills the SinglePlayer. I have autodownload off, and all the files I have I recognize from manually downloading.

Now I have to figure out which file it is.

Well, the 'ScorpioMidget' one has caused me to get Unpure Client errors on other serers. Try that one.

I had problems with alot of the download files. I took them all and dumped them in a Backup folder. I only kept maps that I recognized the names of (i.e. actual maps, not mods and patches of questionable validity and integrity).

found it!

It's only the map .pk3 files and only the ones that start with "z"

I even had to take out my "zeroalltitudemappak.pk3" needed for a CODCommand server.

everything else I downloaded is fine, including the blood squirting patch and some other useless crappola.
