Where did you find this? I downloaded it to the server (I am assuming that it has to be there as well as the client).

Yes, can someone (a non-Vanilla player) try this? I am afraid it will kill my vanilla-version, and that would be a loss I simply could not bear...

Will do when I get home.

AK2, be ready for a server crash. :)

It does work :D

It is a complete DC conversion. The only thing missing is a load-screen graphic but otherwise it is indeed Desert Combat in the Phillippines. Aircraft carrier, helos, planes etc.

This file will not bork up your vanilla version of the map because this map is installed into a directory where no Invasion of the Phillippines exists. This is a DC folder :D

Thanx Doctor Green* for the find and the ftp.

Thanx AK2 for the quick hosting.

I love you guys.

The ACC is gonna be tough to maneuver. 8O

EDIT: NO PT boats! NO PT BOATS!!! :(

EDIT, Part II: My quick review:
- OK, no PT boats, but when Coalition takes the northern-most flag (closest to the carrier) a Zodiac spawns at the dock. This is the only spawn where that happens. Protect and hold on to your landing craft from the ACC - Zodiacs are at a premium.

- ACC gets 3 BHs (the ones w/2 miniguns) and an F-14 :sour:

- the center airfield gets a Frogfoot and a Mirage (Opp) or an A-10 w/cluster bombs :D and an F-14 :sour: (Coa)

- if a flag is taken (by either side, it seems), a HUMVEE w/TOW spawns :? Further research may be needed to confirm.

- southwest-most flag has a T-72 and BDRM amphib (Opp) or an M1A1 and 1 each Humvee/TOW and HUMVEE/.50 cal (Coa).

- northwest-most flag has T-72 and BDRM amphib (Opp) or a single M1A1 (Coa)

- the NW-most flag also has a SAM site :scared: that is barely capable of reaching the aircraft carrier; very, VERY difficult to hit.
I couldn't find a .50 cal light armor/sniper rifle; some may exist, but I was unable to locate them. :|

What an ideal time to unveil the replacement of the VSF RtSB award... the Cranial Rectitis Award.

:(

Unhappy to report that I do not think this will play well as is. MORE than willing to try it with a bunch of peeps though. Very tough to get from one flag to another with the very limited WC.

Need a PWC or two. :) <God I hate those things>

Water Closet?

WC = Water Craft
PWC = Personal Water Craft or Jet Ski

Happy to report I was wrong. Seemed to play very well with a few of us on. The limited WC makes up for the faster vehicles. Still keeps lots of folks on their feet defending flags.

Love the layout of this map... however, the ticket issue needs work. First problem is that the Coaltion starts off with no flags and 100 fewer tickets (roughly)... second issue is that tickets only start counting down when one team has all flags.

The coalition could use a one seat bomber, too, to take out some of the def guns and such...

The issue with each needing to hold every flag is tough.
And the Coalition starting with no flags is very much like the vanilla version, where the axis start with no flags and just a boat.

Like Lost Village, the Coaltion need to use the blackhawks as transports, not gunships. Flying outside stinger or small arms fire can be easy, dropping an spec ops with C4 off near a def gun would make short work of destroying them.

With the lack of water craft and the use of the copters to transport troops, the Coalition, in many ways, have an advatage when travelling between islands.

One large difference between this and vanilla is that an M1 can travel through the shallow water and sustain very little damage. Sherman's in the vanilla version blow up after just seconds in the water.

Humvee doesn't make it far in the water, shallow or not. :(

With a full server, this map could make the 3 hour MG marathons look like a 15 min. coffee break. Not that it's a bad thing. :D

LM :)
Okay, but no starting that map before 10:30pm. And a 900+ ticket count.

Hell Chaly, we could start the map at 6pm with 300 ticks and you'd still get a couple of hours of play in after 10:30.

LM :D
Mmmmmmmmmmm, I like the sound of that.
