Doh! the same but different

Well I was innocently surfing the web :roll: I managed to contract this virus that would and still places poon when I reboot all over my desktop and favourites(while before I had the forums ,sports pools and newspapers about 10 , I now have 85 favourite poon sites apparently ) Now this shouldn't be a bad thing but I think it is. It doesn't affect anything as my Norton anti-virus deletes when it tries to activate. The name is of virus's are Trojan.Densmail, Java.Nocheat...anybody if you could post a link where I may find the patches for these it would be appreciated.

According to Symantec's virus encyclopedia, the best way to remove the Densmail trojan is to update your virus definitions and run a full scan. For instructions to remove the nocheat one, follow this link (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/java.nocheat.html).

puppy, click on start then run and type in msconfig (the last tab is startup). if this thing is launching everytime you reboot you will find the offending file there. look for a program that doesn't look right (not knowing what it is)

there will be 3 columns STARTUP ITEMS, COMMAND, and LOCATION. just go through the startup section and find the offending program. you can uncheck the box and it will not start the program when you reboot but also note the command and location so you can delete them after you know for sure that was the offending program.

Thanks NV and all those that help offered (see now thats a community) But I cleaned out hard drive and reformatted again and it is as clean of viruses as if it got the ole Q-tip treatment...... :evil: and just as painfull...but it hasn't run smoother or cleaner since a couple days before CCM's meltdown.So beware all I'll be on CoD,Thunderdome,and Ak's DC (hhmm..need more beer) got all chores done yesterday fixing this day-off to-day I wanna game allday demo's from PC gamer look cool also (AOM-Titans,Railroad Tycoon 3...love those sims.) But thanks for the help guys I can always come for assistence and insults here :wink: and if I feel the need to insult there is always Wrigs :swg:
