Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Santa Anna trying to take back what was actually part of Mexico? Not trying to say anything bad about the people that died at the Alamo, but I'm curious.

Yes texas was part of the nation of Mexico, but was so sparsely populated that it was though a good idea to bring in american settlers. But when they brought their slaves, which was against the Mexican constitution, a revolution ensued...

I heard a promo today (maybe on the History Channel) for a show about the fighters at the Alamo... something about bringing knives to a gunfight. Did I imagine that?
