New meaning for VSF acronym

We are going to re-tool VSF to be less offensive to the mentally challenged. Not becasue of criticism, but because it is the right thing to do. Although I am convinced those who went forward with this did not do so with any ill will or the like.

Post your suggestions here. The best will be put to a popular vote. We will redesign the banner and move on. We simply cannot afford to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

No suggestions from me yet, but I think the new meaning of the acronym should retain the sense of humour generated by poking fun at ourselves, which is what my perception of the original VSF was.

The original definition is innuendo at best.
It will be difficult to find something nearly as clever while
any 3 other words can & will be interpreted by someone as something just as offensive just as easily.

Therefore, as for my alternate interpretation of the VSF acronym...

Sigh. I am not happy with this decision though I DO understand it. I'm all in favor for leaving it open to interp(crap forgot how to spell that word). Personally [VSF] will always mean [VSF] to me. I have enough Fazzed photogs to remind me of that. So, try as I might, it will always mean one and only one thing to me.

In my eyes "special" could mean anything:

Homosexual (well isin't he just......SPECIAL in those pink sequine pumps)

Black (He lives in the.....SPECIAL part of town off MLK Blvd)

Alcoholic (He has a .......SPECIAL relationship with ethanol)

Artistic (WOW! Does he have a SPECIAL talent for making life like painting using only watercolors, his arse some q-tips and some vaseline)

Talented (JT's got a "special" talent for photoshop. Particularly when he is making babyheads look like a mentally challenged cross dresser for hire who was the love child of eddie murphy and ru-paul)

So I guess for me, for now I'd leave the WORD special open to interpritation and just rid the forums of any mentally challenged photos (in relation to the forums).

I agree, as we progress as a community, we would like to bring in all people from all walks of life. Some of these people may be "mentally challenged". However, you being many years my senior know that it's a slippery slope. As it stands now, my "brotha from anotha motha" makes several (WARNING PC TERM COMING) "little people jokes". What happens if we get a member that is a "Little person?"

So, after this long pontification about 3 little words, I say "Let's keep it open and keep all "High Level Forum Related" areas clean of mentally challenged humor (I.E. the banners, links and look of the forums) but keep the individual posts and tastes as they are.

Hell, if I had my way, in our "link to VSF" section, we would have banners that display many of the worlds "specialties". Why not use the "special" in special forces to ATTRACT the very same people we think we may offend? THAT my friends would RULE!
