Continuing support for NT is coming to an end. You will no longer get hot fixes or phone support. They are also not going to actively seek/fix security probs. Might want to work on getting that up to 2000 or '03.

NT is teh 5uX0r5. Upgrade man!
I know with Domino, there is a huge jump in performance going from NT 4 to Win Server 2003.

The site is keeping track of what the users are running in terms of web browsers and operating systems.

Me too!
Just sit on the stats page and keep refreshing Safari. Post keeps going up and up and up and up.
No Safari in the browsers section though.

Huh? Do you mean hack NT/2000 and get the admin account?

Somewhere along those lines.
What I want to do is get into the admin account that is already created. We did it last year but forgot what we did. I sort of remember starting the computer from a diskette or something that had a file that hacked the admin account.
I have used a Linux bootable diskette in the past to overwrite the admin password on NT/2K/XP systems. This (http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/) is what I used to do it. Undertand that you run the risk of making encrypted files for the user account you crack unreadable so use with caution. Read the rest of the site for more details.
MCSEworld also has a great page offering information on how to recover passwords here (http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password.htm).

Provided you're doing this for a valid reason...
</execute antihaxor.exe>
Create a linux boot sector and boot to linux or a bootable linux CD. Connect the drive with the NT password file on it. There is a tool out there, maybe BH or one of those guys can remember the name (astalavista.com is your friend), that will crack the password file.
Or, there is loftcrack (or was is lophtcrack?) if you have another account with admin rights. That will crack all passwords in an NT domain. However, the account you run it from NEEDS TO HAVE ADMIN RIGHTS.
</end antihaxor>
If you're not doing this for a valid reason, the above text will not appear.
:roll:
BTW - You'll need the linux NTFS driver I believe.
Is installing games on the computers while the teacher is gone a valid reason? :P

uh, no.
And the risk you run of corrupting the pwd file is probably not worth it.
9 times out of 10, just check the teachers desk. PWD is more than likely written on something in/on there.

Was that the local computer's security account or a domain SAM(nt4) or Active Directory(2k{3}) account?
